So, I've recently stumbled upon some very enlightening blogs. The first is managed by a Right-Wing conservative, who, to all due credit, makes decent arguments for his points... but still manages to piss me off a little. His posts comprise issues like the Terri Shiavo case, border security, etc. Nothing I read got me too heated, so I won't dwell on it too much.
But the second one... oh boy... a link I followed from the first, if that gives you any idea of what's ahead.
How can someone devote so much energy to hating someone, or the idea of something, so much that they are spending their time on a website like this.
But I guess I shouldn't be too surprised. This is America, and one of the beautiful things about this country is that we are allowed to say and publish just about anything our little hearts desire... we're even allowed to criticize the President. This is why I feel so angry when I hear how unpatriotic (or whatnot) it is to criticize Bush or the war, or whatever! Unpatriotic?! I exercise my patriotism every day by getting out of bed and practicing my right to live a long, happy life. I'm patriotic every day that I make a joke about Bush, because I'm exercising my right to free speech. I'm patriotic every time I post on this blog, because I'm exercising my right to freedom of the press.
And I'm patriotic every time I have a meeting with my CO-ED LATINO FRATERNITY because I'm exercising my right to freedom of association!
So if anyone would ever like to refer to me, a self-proclaimed "god-less liberal", as unpatriotic I'll tell you that it's your right to say that... just like it's might right to tell you that you can kiss my whole family's ass, because we're all a bunch of freedom-of-speech-lovin third-generation Americans!
So how 'bout cha!
