So, here I am in SoCal, the temperature is a pleasant 74, nice and sunny... and damnit I almost forgot that it was Christmas! My brother doesn't have a tree up, and the decorated homes are few and far between.
Ok, wait... am I actually bitching about a free trip to L.A.?! It sure sounds that way, doesn't it? All right, I take it all back! I was just kidding. Seriously, I was.
Anyhoo, so far it's been a great trip. When they picked me up from LAX we went to Roscoe's Chicken and Waffles for lunch (damn good, to put it mildly), then we wandered around Hollywood for a few hours. No, I didn't see anyone famous, but it was still pretty cool. Last night, we went to see Fun with Dick and Jane (highly recommend). Today I'm hanging out by myself since they both have respectable jobs, so it's just me and the dog and cat. But I'm ok with that because it feels like I've been on the go for the past two weeks. I few days of nothing will be much appreciated. My brother has a giant TV, a satellite, and this dandy computer I'm using right now, so I'm sure I'll keep myself occupied all day.
I'm not quite sure if we'll be going to Vegas or not, but I'll keep ya posted!
Oh yeah, I almost forgot to mention...
Monica and I went to see Brokeback Mountain last Saturday! It wasn't showing anywhere near us, so we drove an hour into Michigan. It ended up being a pretty fun little trip. We had dinner at this blues bar/restaurant before the movie(best catfish I've ever had). The kid selling tickets told Monica that he heard that Brokeback wasn't playing anywhere in Ohio... funny... My guess: well, we were a red state. Hmm. If anyone has any other insight on that, I'd love to hear it. Oh, and the actual film... brilliant. If it happens to be playing near you, and you aren't too uptight, go see it.
PS Feel free to call the cell!

WHAT! It's not playing anywhere in Ohio? Nazis. What kind of state is this where you can't see two hot Hot HOT cowboys in love with each other? RIDICULOUS! Anyway, where did you go to see it, then? So I know how to plan :)
Have fun in Cali!
