France je me manque

So, I'll finally admit it... every year at this time, I get a little sad. It's the Cannes Film Festival. Seeing it on TV bums me out. Why? Because seeing it on TV means that we can mark another year that that I'm not actually there to see it in person. This will make it year four. And how can I avoid it, 'cause it's ALL OVER the TV. The perfect sunny weather, the beautiful sea, palm trees... These days, the closest I get to the gorgeous French Riviera is the friggin' internet cam I check almost daily. If it weren't for the pictures and video I took while I was there, it would almost be like it never happened.
Damn, I gotta get out of this country, if only for a little while (and don't get your panties all in a bunch, KT, nothing against the U.S., I'm just itchin' to get moving).
Anyway, today's message is brought to you by The Da Vinci Code, which I'm going to check out this evening.
PS FYI, the year I was there, 2002, the Palm d'Or went to The Pianist, but the only film I got to see was Madame Sata.
